Sun Welcome Restaurant is located in Pokhara, city of Nepal. The owners are a lovely old couple in their late 70s, their names are Krishna and Lakshmi. Together they run this little business where they serve all kind of nepalese and international dishes, all homemade and cooked with love.
This lovely place, the food and the way the owners treat you inspired me and my friends from Pokhara to help them to make their business a little bit more attractive to costumers. By collecting some money between us, family and friends, we could fix the access, provide them new furniture and paint the walls.
I put all my love in this design, thinking about Krishna and Lakshmi smiles and kindness, they deserved at least a nice painting in the place they spent most of their day.
With the help of many people, we filled the walls with colorful plants. The design was inspired by all the nature that surrounds the city and its warm and vibrant colors by the kindness of the people and the magic feeling of living there.
I designed the lettering below so the name of the restaurant could be visible from the street (as the place is located up in a hill it was easy to miss it).
On the back wall, also visible from the street, the design continues with some more lettering.
The main area was also decorated, like this wall you can enjoy while seated and having your food.
As I said, it was easy to miss the access to this place, so we also decided to paint a street pole right next to the stairs that lead you to the restaurant.
And last but not the least, following the magic jungle vibes of the walls, I printed these menus.
All this work was completely worth it to see Lakshmi and Krishna’s smiles of happines on their faces. Giving them joy was by far one of the best feelings from all the experiences I had in Nepal, and the way we all worked together was just beyond beautiful.
If you are visiting Nepal you shouldn’t miss this place. You can follow them on their Facebook Page ☀
